Geotags becomes Terrapad!

We have submitted a new version of the application today. As of version 2.0, Geotags is now known as Terrapad.
If you already were a Geotags user, your application will be upgraded to Terrapad. Terrapad is our newest Geographic Information System built for the iPhone and iPod Touch Operating System.
Terrapad brings new features and enhancements to your Geotags experience such as:

Terrapad brings new features and enhancements to your Geotags experience such as:
- Selection zones: Double tap and start dragging to select multiple objects.
- Improved CSV and KML export: Linking between objects is preserved in the KML and CSV export functions.
- Switch between different map types using the Settings icon from within the application.
- Improved tap detection for objects with polygonal geometries.
- Browse the Terrapad store from within the application. Download and install extensions that are relevant to your hobby or field of work.
Geotags 1.3 released

Apple has approved and released on the appstore Geotags v1.3. This release is primarily focused on compatibility with iPhone OS 3.0.
However, certain enhancements are available in Geotags 1.3. Most notable is the inclusion of CSV export. This allows your data to be exported to a format compatible with Microsoft Excel, Apple Numbers or Open Office.

Geotags and iPhone OS 3.0

We are aware of various issues with Geotags and iPhone OS 3.0. We have submitted an updated version to Apple and are awaiting approval. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.
Our recommandation, if you are experiencing difficulty, is to leave Geotags installed on your device until Apple publishes the newest version. This will prevent any data loss.

Geotags 1.2 being approved by Apple

A new version of Geotags should be available shortly. Here is what’s changed:
- KML exporting of Geotags’ data (including audio, photos and attributes for all geozones and geotags) (A computer web browser and Google Earth are required to make use of this feature)
- The map can be zoomed in or out through the standard pinching gestures
- New graphical branding (icon and splash screen)
- The wheel menu buttons for zooming in and out have been removed (pinching is now the preferred method)
- Modified the audio recording quality so recorded files are smaller
- Implemented a 2 minute limit on audio recordings
- Updated user manual

We have started working on Geotags v1.2. Planned improvements for this version include:
- Support for standard pinch-in, pinch-out gestures to control zooming (replacing the current wheel menu buttons)
- Exporting of feature data to a desktop machine

Geotags 1.1 has been submitted to Apple for approval.
This version mainly focuses on fixes to the GPS location engine.
- GPS readings should be equivalent to readings in other applications (ie. Google Maps)
- When a new GPS reading is obtained, the map should correctly center itself
- When manually moving the map after obtaining a GPS position, further GPS readings should correctly reposition the map on the reading

GPS problems with Geotags

Some of you have been having difficulties using the GPS functionality of Geotags. We are aware of the problem and are working on the solution. An updated version will be available shortly.
However, we would appreciate any users with problems in this area to post in the Community section of the website. This problem is hard for us to reproduce since it only happens in certain parts of the world. Your help and patience is greatly appreciated!

Apple has approved Geotags for release on the app store! We hope you enjoy using Geotags as much as we’ve enjoyed making it. Software constantly evolves, please do not hesitate to let us know how Geotags could be improved. We’d also enjoy learning how Geotags is helping you!
